Tommy Choi, a REALTOR® in Chicago for 15 years, was the National Association of REALTORS® Vice President of Association Affairs in 2021.
He is co-founder and owner of Weinberg Choi Residential at Keller Williams-Lincoln Park with his business partner and college friend, Josh Weinberg. They formed their team in 2007.
The Weinberg Choi Residential team has sold more than 1,000 properties, generating more than $500 million in sales volume. They consistently rank among the top-10 real estate teams in the city, and among the Chicago Association’s platinum producers in sales and gold producers in units.
In 2019, Tommy served as president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS, the first Korean-American president in the association’s 135-year history. That same year, Tommy chaired NAR’s Young Professionals Network Advisory Board. The national network helps young real estate professionals grow their careers and leadership skills.
Tommy also sits on NAR’s Governance Game Changer PAG, and the REALTOR® Property Resource (RPR®) Advisory Board. An analytics platform, RPR® provides REALTORS® with market- and parcel-based data, tools, and reports.
Tommy is a graduate of the NAR Leadership Academy, an annual program to prepare REALTORS® for future leadership roles with NAR as well as their state and local associations. He is a graduate of Bradley University. In 2020, he was named the Chicago Association’s REALTOR® of the Year.
Crain’s Chicago Business named Tommy to its “40 Under 40” class of 2020, an annual list of entrepreneurs, corporate VPs, inventors, and other Chicago leaders who’ve made an impact.
For Tommy the impact of owning a home is more than financial, he told Crain’s. His Korean immigrant grandfather was proud of his home "not only because he had a roof over his head, but because . . . this piece of America was his."
Tommy lives on the North Side of Chicago with his wife, Tesha; his three daughters, Henly, Mosely, and Mayer; and his dog, Macy. His dream home must-have: a custom sneaker closet for his more than 97 pairs of Air Jordans.
