Overview
The Leonard P. Reaume Memorial Foundation was established in 1996 by Mrs. Renee Reaume to honor her late husband Leonard and his contributions to the field of international real estate. Mr. Reaume was a former President of the National Association of REALTORS® and FIABCI, International Real Estate Federation. Today, the Reaume Foundation is a 501(c)3 entity, governed by a 9-person Board of Directors. The Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations proposing projects that meet its grant criteria: international, educational, and attentive to the needs of real estate practitioners.
Foundation Objectives and Application Purposes, Objectives, and Grant Criteria
The Directors of the Foundation devote Foundation resources to seek and support educational programs which meet all of the following criteria:
- International: Programs receiving support must have an international character, either because they are provided to or of interest to individuals in one or more countries other than the U.S., or because they involve information or services related to international real estate transactions and issues.
- Educational: Programs receiving support must have an education or learning emphasis. This includes support for the development, distribution or presentation of traditional instructional program as well as programs which enhance the accessibility of real estate-related education or scholarship.
- Attentive to the Needs of Newer Practitioners: Programs supported by the Foundation may benefit professionals in all stages of their real estate careers, but special consideration and preference is given to those programs which support the particular needs and desires of individuals in the early stages of their real estate careers.
