Megan Callaghan Bailey, GRI, planned a public service career after graduating from West Virginia University with a major in psychology and a minor in leadership studies. But a job as a legislative analyst in the West Virginia Senate left her unfulfilled. In real estate, she found her true calling. A huge fan of her home state, Bailey, 28, is passionate about helping first-time buyers put down roots, finding down payment assistance programs that boost their ability to obtain financing. “Years of yoga and Pilates help keep me centered and focused,” she says. “You’re always trying to get to the next pose or the next level.” Bailey serves on the government affairs and political action committees of the West Virginia Association of REALTORS®, where her background helps her advocate effectively for measures that benefit the industry—and defeat measures that don’t.
