Kitchen Connections
Some say never mix family and business, but Sam Medvene, 27, respectfully disagrees. As the son of a general contractor, he first worked on a demo crew at age 13 to pay for a highly coveted electric scooter. Today, he’s a top-producing agent at a brokerage run by his uncle; he also works with his brother to fix and flip properties in the D.C. area. ”I saw the benefits [of real estate] early on and I knew it was the type of life I wanted. Why not work with the people who you love and trust to grow together?” Medvene also strives for a deep connection with his clients and tries to remain in their lives well beyond each transaction. One of his favorite activities is to cook a meal with first-time buyers in their new kitchen shortly after closing. “Everything in my life has always been centered around relationships, which is why being an agent has been such a perfect fit for me.”
