Making Connections
After college, James Nay worked as a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym, where building trust with clients was tantamount. His gym clients, along with friendships at church, constitute a referral network that delivers more than 90 percent of his business. “They see I go the extra mile,” says Nay, 26. He recently hired a design consultant who helps clients with interior design and staging needs. Nay is a strong advocate of giving back to the community. He works as a mentor with Caritas, helping to find solutions for men with addiction or who are homeless. For the past several years he has participated in church missions to Guatemala to help “empower women to create businesses.” Nay is at ease juggling many priorities at once. “I make a plan or execute a task as soon as it crosses my desk. I’ve never missed a timeline.”
