‘Bow-Tie Guy’
In local real estate circles, Harold L. Collins II is known as “the bow-tie guy.” After earning a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of South Alabama, he began helping out his mother in her real estate business. He earned his license and, on a whim, wore a bow tie to his first real estate closing. He got so many compliments, he now sports one every day. He and his signature neckwear make frequent appearances in the sometimes comical videos he produces to promote clients’ homes. Using friends, colleagues, and his own son as actors, he designs his videos to show how people live in the home. Collins, 29, swears by a few simple business rules: “Always do what you say you’ll do. Always answer your phone, if possible. And be trustworthy,” he says. “You never know who is going to put their trust in you for a lifetime.”
