Star Intern
While attending the University of Northern Colorado, Brad Inhulsen was turned down for an internship by every brokerage he applied to—except one. But the managing broker expected him to get his license. Inhulsen, now 29, dipped into his student loan funds and began the process. He became an unpaid intern, shadowing top producers, and then a weekend receptionist. “I was able to mold myself into a little of everybody I learned from,” he says. After earning a degree in business finance, he joined the company as a sales associate. He builds ties with touches like handwritten birthday cards, diapers for new parents, and gingerbread house–-decorating events. “When you care about your friends, they naturally become your clients,” he says. He’s active in his local and state associations and even the National Association of REALTORS®’ federal political coordinator for U.S. Rep. Ken Buck.
