How a Pop of Pastels Can Cheer Up a Home’s Interiors

Create a warm, welcoming space by softening up the color palette.

The softer shades of pastels can bring warmth to a living space, adding color but not in an overwhelming way. Touches of lighter shades can look luxurious and home stagers are turning to the hues to stage properties for sale. See how luxury developments across New York City are embracing the pastel color trend.

The Harper

The 21-story, Manhattan condominium infuses pastel wallpaper throughout the building’s amenity spaces and also uses pastels to dress up its model units for a calming appeal, including in the staging of a nursery.

96+Broadway

The luxury condominium building, including a residence designed by Urban Casa, blends neutrals with pastel pink patterned wallpaper.

Also up against natural light, the home has an accent wall in a pink bedroom to soften up the space.

The condo tower, designed by architect Jean Nouvel and interiors by Thierry Despont, features a two-bedroom residence that boasts baby blue walls to invoke a tranquil atmosphere. The blue wall is accented with decorative mirrors and a textured wall.

547 West 47th Street

The luxury condo shows off an 824-square-foot, one-bedroom residence with a soft garden green wall. The pastel wall is positioned next to the floor-to-ceiling window that draws in natural light and aims to enhance the vibrancy of the color.
