Association Executives

How do you influence large brokers to use statistical information (such as RPR data) in a meaningful way?

  • Show brokers, with actual examples, how RPR data and other statistical information can be used. Let them know how the information can be meaningful, the value in using the data, and how it positively impacts the firm, their agents, consumers, and clients.
  • Invite RPR to present classes for brokers. Subsequently brokers may invite RPR to conduct sessions for their agents.
  • Provide brokers with materials they can use in their marketing -- a monthly existing home sales statistics report; data from NAR’s annual survey of home buyers and sellers, a fill-in-the-blank press release.

What type of information could your local association provide that would be meaningful?

  • Monthly membership stats with sales closed and pending by zip codes.
  • National and regional stats can be found online, if you know where to look. It would be helpful if the local association could provide stats along with a brief analysis of what the numbers mean.
  • Monthly comparisons to last year of total volume of closed, active, and pendings, along with the number of closed transactions, actives, and pendings.
  • Statistics that break down single-family homes, condos, multi-families, and how they’re performing year-to-year and during the same month of the previous year.
  • Information on the total number of members, number of new members, and any demographical information related thereto would be helpful.
