WASHINGTON (August 11, 2021) – National Association of Realtors®' General Counsel Katie Johnson and Vice President of Demographics and Behavioral Insights Dr. Jessica Lautz have been named "2021 Women of Influence" by HousingWire. Johnson and Lautz were each selected among hundreds of candidates for their efforts in "shattering glass ceilings and leaving a legacy for years to come."
"This year's honorees are all women who are cultivating a new path forward for the housing industry and who are reimagining a better, more collaborative future," said Brena Nath, HW+ managing editor.
The Women of Influence are selected by HousingWire's selection committee based on their professional achievements within their organizations, but the committee also factors in contributions to the overall industry, community outreach, client impact and personal success.
"It's exciting to see HousingWire recognize so many women leaders who are helping the housing industry navigate all the challenges and opportunities that have been presented in recent years," said Johnson, who is also NAR's chief member experience officer. "I'm honored to be listed amongst this group of strategic, creative and empathetic thought leaders."
This is the 11th annual installment of HousingWire's Women of Influence list, with HousingWire noting that the selection process has become more competitive each year.
"I have been honored to be surrounded by mentors who have challenged me and helped me to evolve," said Lautz. "In my role, I find the growing share of women entrepreneurs and the increasingly powerful part played by single women homebuyers inspirational. Moving forward, I will continue to amplify the voices and experiences of these dynamic women and encourage fellow colleagues in the real estate industry."
Last year, NAR senior executives Victoria Gillespie and Shannon McGahn were named "2020 Women of Influence" by HousingWire.
HousingWire will run individual features for each winner on its website and in the August issue of HousingWire Magazine.
The National Association of Realtors® is America's largest trade association, representing more than 1.4 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
