The new May 2021 NAR SentriLock Home Showings report indicates that there was an increase in nationwide foot traffic on a month-over-month basis. Nationally, Sentrilock home showings were up 24% year-over-year. Sentrilock showings were 1,030,784 in May 2021, up from the 828,611 recorded in May 2020. Showings rose in every region except the Midwest region, according to data from SentriLock, LLC, a lockbox company. Total U.S. SentriLock cards rose 19% year-over-year to 218,290. At a national level, showings per card increased 5% year-over-year.
The Northeast region recorded an 111% year-over-year change in showings
Northeast region year-over-year showings for May represents an 111% increase. Sentrilock cards increased from the prior month (10,773) to 10,908 in May 2021.
The Midwest region showings decreased 1% year-over-year
Midwest Region showings decreased 1% year-over-year in May. The Midwest totaled 289,087 showings in May, up from April's 285,471.
The South region showings increased 12% year-over-year
The South region recorded 341,915 showings in May, which represents a 12% increase year-over-year and an increase from April 2020 (338,246).
West region showings increased 71% year-over-year
The West region recorded a 71% year-over-year increase in showings. Showings increased to 384,564 in May.
